The Modern Neighbors of Tutankhamun

Former CAIS scholar Dr Kees van der Spek has published his doctoral research, as a book titled:‘The Modern Neighbors of Tutankhamun: History, Life and Work in the Villages of
the Theban West Bank’ (The American University in Cairo Press, October 2011).

Kees was the recipient of a postdoctoral grant, provided jointly by the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences and the Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies, that gave him the opportunity to work full-time on this publication.
